Many brands produce 1.5-3mm travel mats that can be easily rolled up or folded to fit into suitcases and backpacks. As explained before, yoga mats that are too thin have limited protection and are more recommended for advanced users.

2.7 Accessories

Accessories can be chosen exactly according to your needs. If you are just practicing at home, then there is no need to buy a yoga bag. Also,if you will not use the auxiliary equipment in the beginning stage, you do not need to match the full yogasets. A complete yoga set includes the following useful accessories.

1. Towels

For yogis who sweat a lot, towels can be used to absorb sweat and prevent slipping. If laid on a communal mat it will make the experience more personal and hygienic. Yoga towels are more fashionable and stylish than yoga mats, and most brandsprovide a range of yoga towels.

2.Blocks, Bolsters and Straps

Some asanas are difficult to perform due to the body's lack of flexibility, so you can use the straps to help pull the body and gradually perceive the movements. The locks on the straps can be adjusted to suit each individual. Yoga blocks and pillows are also important auxiliary tools in our yoga practice, mainly to prevent strains when doing difficult movements. For example, when doing a backbend, using a yoga block to support the body reduces the chance of injury and allows for a better finish.

2.8 Clean

A yoga mat that is not cleaned is likely to harbor oil stains, bacteria, fungus and dust mites. While it is important to choose the right mat for you, it is also essential that you take care of your mat in a scientific and consistent manner to extend its life. Cleaning and maintaining a yoga mat, like practising yoga, needs to be done gently and carefully, thus you need to bear in mind the following tips.

For simple daily cleaning, use two cups of water with a few drops of detergent in a spray bottle and spray the mat, or use a professional yoga mat cleaning spray and oil. Then, wipe with a soft cloth and air dry in the shade. Do not leave the mat exposed to excessive amounts of sunlight. Do not use any type of soap for cleaning, as it will compromise the performance and integrity of the mat.
